How can we help? 👋

Compentences tab options

This guide will go over the Competences tab and the options this tab gives you.

Function options

The competence function lets you add all the competences your employee possesses. This is useful because you can see what competences you have within your organzation as well as the ones you might lack.

This function also lets you add any certifications or the like that your employee obtains during their employment, that you may need to be able to document.

How to add a competence

To add a new competence, click on add competence. This opens up a new window where you apply a fitting name for the competence. Once you start typing, a list of suggestions will appear. These are directly obtained from ESCO, which is the European Commissions list of skills, competences, qualifications and occupations. You can choose from this list or add your own.

Next, you choose a fitting group for the competence. You define this group yourself - learn more about this in the next paragraph. Conclude by adding a competence description.

The next fields lets you decide whether or not it is the manager only who should be able to assess the competence and whether the competence should have an expiration date. Learn more from the illustration below:

Finally, apply the competence to one or more of your employees. You do not have to apply it to an employee - the competence will saved in your library regardless. You can apply it to an employee at any time.

Conclude by clicking save and close.

Competence groups

A competence group is the overarching category for a set of related competences. You can add as many groups as you need to.

To add a new competence group click on add competence group and name it. Conclude by clicking save and close.

Visualize the competences

You can visualize the competences you have created and applied to your employees by clicking on the bar chart icon in the upper left corner, next to the list icon.

This will show you a bar chart with all the competence groups and how many employees hold the different competences in each category. Click on the bars to see which competences you can find in the different groups.

Once you see the bar charts of the actual competences you can see who possesses each competence. From here, you can click on the employee's name to see which other competences they may hold on the employee data card.

In this guide you have learned how create new competences and competence groups. Furthermore, you have been introduced to get an visual overview over the competences, you have created in your HR-platform and the employees that possess them.
