In this article we will go through all the different options of the dashboard. The dashboard is the first thing you meet when you log onto your account in HR-ON Staff.
Create multiple versions of the dashboard
The dashboard provides an overview over sections such as Calendar, Assignments and Unsigned Documents. These components are called widgets. It is possible to create more than one version of the dashboard. This way you can define the specific widgets you want to appear when an employee log in to HR-ON Staff, if they have the rights to view the dashboard.
If you wish to create more versions of the dashboard, click on Create Dashboard. This option will appear when you click on the drop-down menu that you find under the headline Dashboard on the right side of the screen display. Creating multiple dashboards allows you to have, for instance, one version for the managers, and another version for the remaining employees.
Learn how to create dashboards
Assign a name to the dashboard. Once this is done, you can assign reading rights as well as reading - and writing rights. You have the option of creating a dashboard based on a template. Choose the template and then click on Save and close. If you choose not to base the dashboard on a template, an empty dashboard will appear from which you can add your selected widgets.
How to add and remove widgets
You can add widgets by clicking the plus-sign in the empty widget box. After this you can select one from the list. If you wish to remove a widget, all you have to do is click on the three dots on the upper right corner and click Remove widget.
You also have the option of adding a personal widget. This means that you can personalize your dashboard so it suits your organisation's needs. This could be a widget such as an employee manual. Learn how to add a personal widget here.
Change the welcome header
You can change the dashboard's welcome header that you find in the upper left corner. This is done by hovering over the current header until a pencil icon occurs. Click on the icon and type in the new text. If you need multiple languages you can add an additional language by clicking Add language. Conclude by clicking Save and close.
Shortcut to employees
On the dashboard you will also find a search function that helps you find specific areas of the system e.g. a shortcut for retrieving an employee. Simply search CTRL + K and start typing the first name of the employee, and different suggestions will appear. Then click on the employee to go directly to the employee's data card.
You also have a shortcut for adding a new employee by clicking Add Employee. Doing this opens a window where you fill in the employee's information. Learn more about this in the section Manage Employees.
This section has guided you through the multiple dashboard options, and how you can personalize the dashboards for your employees. Addtionally, you have learned how to create your own widgets so that your HR platform accomodates your organisation.
